One of the most simple and satisfying snacks just got that much more enjoyable!
Growing up, we never really had microwavable popcorn unless we were at a friend's house. I know, crazy right? One of my mom's all time favorite snacks was popcorn so she made it quite often - stovetop.
Once she taught me how to make it myself, I was hooked... and then the improvements came. Check out my recipe for the best (and easiest) stovetop popcorn below!
INGREDIENTS
Organic white popcorn kernels
2 tbsp Oil (my personal favorite it organic coconut oil, but I also love avocado oil)
Fine Himalayan pink salt
RECIPE
Put 2 tbsp of oil in the bottom of a medium sized pot
Place the pot on a burner at medium heat
Dump popcorn kernels into the bottom of the pot - there should be just enough to cover the bottom of the pot without piling on top of each other
Cover the pot and let sit until it begins to pops
Keep an ear out for the popping to slow down. Just before all kernels have popped, turn off the heat and leave the pot for another minute or two
When you don't hear popping anymore, dump your serving into a bowl and sprinkle with the salt. Then you're gonna want to mix it all together (you can also put other toppings - Feeling spicy? Sprinkle some crushed red pepper. Feeling more sweet? Sprinkle some sugar and cinnamon)
Enjoy!
